4 CREDIT HOURS
Prerequisite: CSC* K108 .
A study of the fundamentals of object-oriented paradigm using the Java programming language with emphasis on problem solving and algorithm development including design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation practices. Fundamental topics include classes, objects, abstraction, encapsulation, inheritance, polymorphism, and interfaces used in conjunction with the Java API for applications encompassing user defined data types, graphical user interfaces (GUIs), graphics, exception handling, and I/O. Three lecture hours, one two-hour lab.
