BIO* K289 - Environmental Science Seminar ° 3 CREDIT HOURS Prerequisites: ENG* K101 or ENG* K101S ; BIO* K180 ; or permission of the instructor. In this course students further develop their understanding of current environmental issues. Through expert guest lectures, research, and assigned readings, students will explore a variety of global and local environmental topics including: environmental trends and issues, global climate change, human impacts on our oceans and land, federal and state regulations, solid, municipal, and hazardous waste management, environmental restoration and remediation, wildlife managment, alternative and renewable energy, sustainable landscape managment, sustainable agriculture, GMOs, conservation, stewardship, land use, water quality, and stormwater management. This course is equivalent to ENV* K295 .
